Nov 25, 2020 · Louisa M. Alcott was born on November 29, 1832 to Amos Bronson Alcott and Abigail “Abba” May in German town, Pennsylvania. Her father, Bronson Alcott was a teacher who believed children should enjoy learning. He established the Temple School in Boston and joined the Transcendental Club with R. W. Emerson and H. D. Thoreau.
She was the second born of the Alcott's four daughters; Anna Bronson Alcott was the eldest, and Elizabeth Sewall Alcott and Abigail May Alcott were the two youngest. The family moved to Boston in 1834 or 1835, where her father established an experimental schol and joined the Transcendental Club with Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau.
