Cabanne established the Cabanne Dairy Company, a forerunner of the St. Louis Dairy and a pioneer in pure milk distribution. What later became the northeastern portion of Forest Park was a part of the Cabanne dairy farm tract. The first airmail flight clattered out of the park on the morning of August 16, 1920, carrying about 150 pounds of mail.
